The recent changes to California's Open Meeting statute (Ralph M. Brown Act) make it possible for members of governmental advisory commissions and boards to post documents and views for public comment. Making permanent allowances used only narrowly, these new options open up collective work on public documents as they are being prepared for public approval by the various boards and commissions. We expect plenty of discussion concerning this new feature.
