The recent changes to California's Open Meeting statute (Ralph M. Brown Act) make it possible for members of governmental advisory commissions and boards to post documents and views for public comment. Making permanent allowances used only narrowly, these new options open up collective work on public documents as they are being prepared for public approval by the various boards and commissions. We expect plenty of discussion concerning this new feature.

Google + Videos
Greetings!
I promised my friend today that I'd include some links to videos that demonstrate how easy it is to use the tools within Google plus to help us communicate and collaborate. I'll keep adding to this post as I find them, but here's a link to someone whose videos have impressed me. Ronnie Bincer has specialized in helping folks learn about Google Plus's Hangout features, and he's very easy to listen to.

Hangouts: Organizing Online Sweat Lodges
Greetings!
I friend is coming over today, and I'll take the opportunity to share with him my latest information about the value of Google Plus tools for community organizing. One of those tools is Hangout, which I've grown more knowledgeable about lately by watching as many of the Hangouts On Air as I can. These are YouTube videos which captured the Hangouts conducted by early users, and they display a variety of useful models for the feature. One particular model I am envisioning for key organizers is of an online sweat lodge to meet and share stories of our visions.
As I get time, I'll post some of the best in this blog.
